Frequently asked questions
It is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues. At Desert Home Guard Services, our goal is to minimize risks and costly damages associated with the interior and exterior of an unoccupied home. Our inspections look for unusual sounds, smells, leaks, mold, infestations, signs of squatters, vandalism, storm damage, and functionality of drip systems, appliances, home equipment, technology (i.e., nest, ring, WIFI), and lighting.
Desert Home Guardian Services is a licensed, insured, bonded Home Watch company serving phoenix, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Paradise Valley, and Rio Verde, Arizona.
If we find an issue during a Home Watch visit, you'll receive a detailed electronic report with time-stamped, GPS-verified proof of service. Our reports include color-coded findings (Green for no issues, Red for items needing attention) and photos of interior and exterior areas. For urgent issues, we contact you immediately by phone or text to discuss next steps. These reports can also be shared with insurance providers to support claims, ensuring your property is always protected.
Alarm companies are excellent for remote monitoring of break-ins or fire/smoke alarms, but they do not provide an on-site physical presence or check for issues inside your home. Desert Home Guardian Services goes beyond security monitoring by inspecting for water leaks, broken pipes, mold, unusual smells, HVAC failures, gas leaks, pest infestations, even squatters—problems that alarms cannot detect. After each visit, we provide a detailed, photo-documented report and contact you immediately if urgent action is needed. This proactive approach helps prevent costly damage and gives you complete peace of mind.
Home Watch accreditation is important because it means your provider is licensed, bonded, insured, and vetted for professionalism. Our NHWA accreditation gives you confidence and peace of mind, knowing your property is in trusted hands.
Desert Home Guardian Services is an Accredited Member of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA), fully licensed, bonded, and insured. Our owners are Certified Home Watch Professionals, participating in ongoing training, and follow NHWA ethics and best practices. Additionally, the owners are committed to the home watch industry as they are members of the NHWA Executive Committee and Advisory Board and also train members that own home watch businesses in Arizona.
Desert Home Guardian Services emails you an invoice the first of the month, with easy and secure online payment options included. You only pay for services rendered. If a homeowner comes back to their Arizona residence, and notifies us of their return, they are taken off of the schedule, and home watch services are paused.
No. A neighborhood watch program is passive and only observes general activity occurring on the outside of a home, while Home Watch provides detailed interior and exterior inspections with reports and photos. Desert Home Guardian Services delivers the proactive care and accountability that neighborhood watch cannot.
House Sitting means someone lives in your home temporarily, while Home Watch is a professional service that provides recurring inspections, reporting, and problem detection. Desert Home Guardian Services is a licensed, insured, bonded Arizona Home Watch provider.
No. Desert Home Guardian Services is not a property management company. We do not manage leasing, rent collection, or deal with tenants. Instead, we provide Home Watch Services—recurring on-site visits with visual inspections and detailed reports for absentee homeowners.
No—Desert Home Guardian Services fee structure is competitively priced and designed to deliver exceptional value and mitigate risk. The cost of our Home Watch or Concierge services is minimal compared to the potential expense or damage that could occur in an unoccupied home. An unoccupied home is a vulnerable home. Pricing is based on factors like the size and layout of the interior and exterior of your home, location, and any special home management requests. We are happy to provide a free home consultation before any service begins.
A home inspection is a onetime inspection of a home and property and typically occurs when there is a buying or selling process. Detailed reviews of equipment occur, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, and the foundation, roof, and attic is inspected.
A home watch inspection occurs weekly or biweekly and the interior and exterior of an unoccupied home is checked looking for obvious issues. Detailed reporting with pictures is provided and if problems arise, we will discuss with the homeowner to determine the appropriate course of action.
No. Home Care Services provides a range of supportive care options for individuals who wish to receive medical or healthcare assistance in the comfort of their own home. We watch over a home, not the residents within it.
After the initial meeting and visit to the home, the homeowner completes and signs the Home Watch Service Level Agreement, which outlines pricing, terms, and conditions of service. Once agreement is signed, services may begin.
